Abstract
A telephoto zoom lens system includes a positive first lens group, a negative second lens group as a focusing lens group, a diaphragm, a positive third lens group, and a positive fourth lens group, in this order from the object. Upon zooming from the short focal length extremity to the long focal length extremity, all the lens groups move toward the image. The second lens group includes a firstsub-lens group, and a secondsub-lens group, in this order from the object. The telephoto zoom lens system satisfies the following conditions:1.6<|<2.1  (1)0.45<|<0.8  (2)wherein
