A transmitting cell phoneaccording to the present invention is provided with a character image DB, a user designator, a character image generator, and a communicator. A plurality of character images are preliminarily stored in the character image DB. The user designatordesignates an expression or movement of a character image to be transmitted to a receiving cell phone. The character image generatoracquires one character image out of the plurality of character images stored in the character image DBand uses the character image to generate a character image with the expression or movement designated by the user designator.
