Abstract
A multistage Stirling enginemounted on an automobile provided with an internal combustion engine has two cylindersand. Displacer pistonsandand power pistonsandare slidably fitted in the two cylindersand, respectively. The exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine and serving as a heating fluid flows sequentially through the cylindersandto heat helium gas serving as a working fluid of the Stirling engine. The cylindersandare disposed parallel to each other. Heatersand, regenerative heat exchangersand, and coolersandare installed between the cylindersand. The multistage Stirling engine is flat and compact.
