Abstract
Telecommunications system and method supporting a plurality of data rates are disclosed. The system includes an adjusting device that adjusts a target signal-to-interference ratio of a closed-loop power control to match a data rate applied in transmission of a dedicated channel. The system provides data-rate-sensitive power control thus to increase the accuracy of the power control and to improve the performance of the telecommunications system.
