Abstract

An antenna system () for receiving and transmitting radio frequency (RF) signals within a plurality of predetermined RF bands includes a ground leg (), a feed leg (), one or more capacitive patches () and one or more switching devices (). The feed leg () is coupled to the ground leg () at one portion thereof. Each of the one or more switching devices () is associated with one capacitive patch () and selectably couples its associated capacitive patch () to a ground plane () in order to receive and transmit RF signals within an associated predetermined RF band.
