A system for enabling the measurement of a temperature in a furnace () using a pyrometer () that includes a pallet support () for supporting a pallet () a given distance (c) above a furnace floor () and a pyrometer target () that includes a support member () and a target member () separable from said support member () where the support member () has a height less than the given distance (c).
