Abstract
A camera casingaccommodates therein a shake correction unitfor oscillatingly supporting an image sensor, a control circuit boardloaded with electronic components such as ASICand a driving control circuit, and a viewfinder sectionfor allowing a user to confirm a field to be photographed. The shake correction unit, the control circuit board, and the viewfinder sectionare arranged in proximity to each other on planes substantially identical to each other. The shake correction unithas a first driving unitarranged on the side of a side portionof the image sensorto apply an oscillating force to the image sensorto oscillate the image sensorin a first direction (pitch direction shown by the arrows p in FIG.) perpendicular to optical axis, and a second driving unitarranged on the side of a side portionof the image sensorto apply an oscillating force to the image sensorto oscillate the image sensorin a second direction (yaw direction shown by the arrows y in FIG.) perpendicular to the optical axis and the first direction.
