Abstract

There is provided a honeycomb structureincluding porous partition wallsdisposed so as to form a plurality of through holesextending from one end portion to the other end portion in A-axis direction, and containing cordierite as a main component. When porosity is P (%), compressive strength in the A-axis direction is C(MPa), and open frontal area is A (%); a relation of C≧(600e)+0.5 is satisfied. The honeycomb structure has small pressure loss, is hardly damaged, and has excellent trapping efficiency.
