Abstract
The present invention provides a liquid crystal display capable of detecting external light by an optical sensor without providing a window in front of a product. A top face of a liquid crystal display panel () corresponds to a display surface. A light-guiding plate () is disposed on a rear face of the liquid crystal display panel (). A backlight () shown in FIG.is attached to the light-guiding plate (). Light emitted from the backlight () is guided to the display surface of the liquid crystal display panel () by the light-guiding plate (). A reflection sheet () is disposed on a bottom face of the light-guiding plate (). An optical sensor () is attached to a side face of the light-guiding plate () with its light-receiving face facing the inside of the light-guiding plate ().
