Abstract
An exhaust pipehaving a circular cross section is connected to a circular cylindrical housingwhich creates part of pipe conduit. The housingforms a storage spacehaving a diameter larger than the diameter of the exhaust pipeand connecting to the rear connection part. The connection partis tapered toward the downstream exhaust pipeand the diameter of the connection partis gradually reduced and its opening is welded into the opening of the downstream exhaust pipe. And a cylindrical honeycomb catalyst carrieris stored in the storage spaceso that the outer surface of the catalyst carrier is in contact with the inner surface of the storage space. An expanded portionhaving a diameter larger than the diameter of the storage spaceis outwardly expanded from the outer circumference of the housingand connectingly provided on the front face of the storage space.
