Abstract
Sheets () of a print medium kept in a stack () are individually fed into an office machine. The edge of the uppermost sheet () is raised off the corresponding edge of the following second sheet (). At least one band () is then inserted into the gap formed in this way, which separates the uppermost sheet () from the following sheet (), reducing thereby the friction between the uppermost sheet () and the following sheet () when the uppermost sheet () is pulled off, and minimizing thereby any electrostatic charge of the sheets () caused by such friction. The band () can be retracted into a band housing ().
