Abstract
At least one transfer channel () is formed in the cylinder wall () of the cylinder () for a two-stroke engine. The transfer channel () is closed to the cylinder outer side () by a cover (). The method for making the cylinder () provides that the cover () is assembled in a first step on the cylinder () and, in a second step, the cylinder bore () is machined.
