Abstract
An ADSL POTS splitter includes low pass filter. The low pass filter includes a first inductor portion in communication with the line interface and a second inductor portion isolated from the line interface via an isolation capacitor. In one embodiment, the first inductor portion is characterized for non-saturation in conventional operating ranges. The first non-isolated inductor portion has a respective DC saturation current and the isolated inductor portion has a respective DC saturation current. The DC saturation current of the first non-isolated inductor portion is substantially greater than the DC saturation current of the isolated inductor portion for achieving higher inductance in the isolated inductor portion.
