Abstract

A diastereoselective synthesis process for the preparation of an enantiomer of 6-[amino(4-chlorophenyl)(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl]-4-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-2(1H)-quinolinone which comprises the conversion of (±)-6-[chloro(4-chlomphenyl)(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl]-4-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-2(1H)-quinolinone into a compound of formula (VIII) wherein aryl is phenyl substituted once or twice with Calkyloxy or naphtalenyl substituted once or twice with Calkyloxy.
