Abstract
A fuel injection system () having an accumulator () includes an accumulator fill valve assembly () that regulates pressure within the accumulator () for operation of injection events other than the main injection. A restriction () in an inlet conduit and a stepped surface in a spool valve () provide a pressure amplifier across the accumulator valve.
