Abstract
After reading a predetermined number of predetermined blocks for each of a plurality of image data, a first image read unitreads out the plurality of image data read in parallel by repeatedly switching the designated order of the plurality of image data. A JPEG compression unitperforms image compression on the plurality of image data read out in block units by the first image read unit, image-compresses a predetermined number of the blocks for each of the plurality of image data, and then inserts an identifier after the last block of the predetermined number of blocks.
