Abstract
The invention relates to a composite part, especially a cross member between the A columns of a motor vehicle. Said composite part comprises an open metal profile () and a channel () disposed therein, at least partially constituted of a plastic material and extending along the metal profile (). An insert part () produced from a plastic material is fastened on the wall of the metal profile () in such a manner that a retaining contour () configured on an opening () in the wall of the metal profile () and shaped from said profile undercuts the plastic material of the insert part () pressed into the contour, thereby providing the channel () with a wall and/or mechanically stabilizing it.
