Abstract
An ECU executes a program including the steps of calculating a correction coefficient K () having a value that is greater as an accelerator pedal position is greater, calculating a first throttle position () as a product of a reference value BSE () and the correction coefficient K (), calculating a correction coefficient K () having a value that is greater as the accelerator pedal position is greater, and calculating a second throttle position () as a product of a reference value BSE () and the correction coefficient K (). If the throttle position is equal to or higher than the first throttle position (), a target position lower than a provisional target position set in accordance with the accelerator pedal position is set. If the throttle position is set to the second throttle position (), the throttle position is maintained at the second throttle position ().
