Abstract
A method and an apparatus for shape measurement that is able to observe the deep portion under a skin with high spatial resolution by using a frequency COMB light generator is provided. A frequency COMB light generator for generating multiple frequency COMBs with variable frequency pitch at high operation stability is provided. This apparatus for shape measurement comprises a frequency COMB light generator and an optical interferometer for measuring the distance. The frequency COMB light generator includes a laser light source, an optical resonator, a COMB pitch regulatorand an output port OUT. The optical resonatorincludes an optical modulator, a first mirror M, an optical fiber Fwhich is drawn out from alight waveguide of the optical modulator. The COMB pitch regulatoris a modulation signal generator for varying the modulation signal. The optical fiber Fis equipped with an apparatus (Faraday rotation mirror) for compensating a change in the polarization condition.
