Abstract
A nuclear imaging probefor measuring the density of a subsurface formation GF in a limited zone surrounding a well-bore hole WBH. The probe comprises: a padhaving a face arranged so as to be positioned in contact with a well-bore wall WBW, at least one radioactive sourcearranged within the pad for transmitting incident photons PI towards the well-bore wall, and at least one sensorspaced away from the radioactive source and isolated from the radioactive source by a shieldarranged into the pad for receiving photons scattered PS by the limited zone.
