Abstract

A card connector () for receiving a card (), includes an insulative housing () having a card receiving space (), a number of contacts () mounted in the insulative housing to contact with the card and an eject mechanism (). The eject mechanism defines a slider () movably mounted on the housing and engageable with the card, a spring () for biasing the slider to move in a direction opposite to an insertion direction of the card, a cam mechanism including an cam () and a cam groove () formed around the cam having a starting point (), and a pin member () movable within the cam groove. The cam includes a first recessed portion () and a second recessed portion () both communicating with the cam groove, the pin member disengages from the first recessed portion and the second recessed portion upon ejection of the card.
