The present invention relates to a fastening film systemcomprising a backingand an adhesive layeron one of the two major surfaces of the backing, the backingbearing on its exposed major surfaceopposite to the adhesive layera plurality of male fastening elementscapable of engaging with fibrous materialshaving a plurality of complementary female fastening elements, and a plurality of through-holesextending through the thicknessof the backingso that the adhesive layerattached to the backingis exposed through such through-holeswherein at least one of said through-holesis encompassed by the backing, and wherein the fastening film systemreleasably adheres to said fibrous materialsthrough a combination of a mechanical and an adhesive bonding mechanism.
