The steering control device for a vehicle includes a first input shaftconnected to a handle, a second input shaftconnected to a motor, an output shaftconnected to a steering wheel, a first transmission 6 for rotating a nutin accordance with the rotational motion of the first input shaftso as to transmit the rotational motion of the first input shaftto the rotational motion of the output shaft, and a second transmissionfor moving the nutlinearly in the axial direction with respect to the output shaftin accordance with the rotational motion of the second input shaftso as to transmit the rotational motion of the second input shaftto the rotational motion of the output shaft. The center line of the second input shaft and the center line of the output shaft are aligned on substantially the same straight line.
