Abstract
A hydraulic locking and loosening device () is set on the neck of a rolling-mill roll or back-up roll with a conical part () and a cylindrical part (), and comprising an oil-film bearing (), a spacer ring (), a thrust bearing (), a thrust ring (), and a threaded lock ring (). The locking device () comprises a body () inserted at the centre in a ram () to form a hydraulic actuator with two annular chambers (), longitudinal arms (), on each of which is provided a C-shaped notch (), and cover () for closing the hydraulic chambers (). A variant of the hydraulic locking and loosening device () is provided with a bayonet device for its engaging on the roll end.
