Abstract
A liquid crystal display with high contrast and little color difference between white plain color and black plain color is disclosed, in which in the color layers formed on an optically transparent substrate, the contrasts of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) CR, CR, and CRhave a relationship of 16×(CR/CR)−3>CR/CR>CR/CR, and the total contrast CRcalculated from the contrasts of color layers CR, CR, and CRand the contrast of a polarizing plate CRsatisfy a relationship of CR/CR>0.11.
