Abstract
Fixed conveyor slats () in the nature of beams extend over a window in a support framework () for the movable and fixed slats () of the reciprocating slat conveyor. The fixed slats () support the movable slats (), including in the region of the window. The fixed and movable slats () are box beams, providing them with strength and stiffness in the region of the window. The fixed slats () are covered by planks of bearing material (). Side portions () of the movable slats () set down on side portions () of the planks of bearing material (). The planks of bearing material () are connected at one end only to the fixed slats (). The bearing material () is capable of withstanding the heat of hot asphalt concrete and protects the fixed slats () from contact with the asphalt concrete.
