Abstract
A miniature audio jack connector () for electrically connecting a mating plug () includes an arched insulative housing (), a number of conductive contacts () retained in the housing () and a pair of switch contacts () containing a movable contact () and an immovable contact (). The housing defines a top wall (), a plug-insertion hole () and an opening () through the top wall. The movable contact defines an elastic arm () with an emboss () extending into the plug-insertion hole and a mating portion for connecting with the immovable contact. The arm () is movable within the opening (), thereby minimizing the profile of the insulative housing ().
