Abstract

A novel heme peptide and a method for producing the same are disclosed. The invention provides a peptide with a potent NO-scavenging ability which can be used in capturing/quantifying NO and can be used as a diagnostic agent, prophylactic agent or therapeutic agent for diseases in which NO is involved, as a research reagent, as a reagent for measuring NO concentrations in the environment, and as a treating agent for removing NO in the environment.
