Abstract
A compact lens antenna assembly A which is a Luneberg lens antenna comprising a hemispherical lens and a reflecting plate so as to converge incoming radio waves on a feed, and which can receive radio waves from not only a geostationary satellite or an orbiting satellite with high gain even if the incidence angle of the incoming radio waves is large includes lens antenna bodyincluding a base plate, a reflecting plateand a hemispherical lensmade by laminating dielectric materials. The plateand the lensare rotatably mounted on the base plate. The antenna body further includes feedsandthat can be moved to a desired position along guide rails. The antenna assembly further includes a reflecting plate support meansmounted on a baseand capable of inclining the reflecting platein a desired direction. By inclining the reflecting plate, the incidence angle of radio waves from the satellite is adjustable to a value within a predetermined range.
