Abstract
A variable damper assembly () includes a cylinder head () with multiple valves () selectively blocking corresponding flow paths () to provide multiple dampening rates. Hydraulic fluid passing through flow paths () within the cylinder head () are selectively opened and closed to provide a desired dampening rate. The cylinder head () includes an upper part () and a lower part (). The valves () are mounted within the upper part () of the cylinder head (). Each of the valves () includes a plunger () extending into flow passages () defined within the lower part () of the cylinder head (). Actuation of the valves () within the cylinder head () selectively opens and closes specific flow paths () within the lower part () of the cylinder head () to control the flow of fluid between upper and lower portions () of a dampening chamber ().
