Abstract

The present invention is directed to a system and method for providing improved wireless services in a GPRS network operating in network operation mode. In an embodiment of the present invention, a MS attempts a combined attach. If the combined attach is not accepted by the network, the MS repeats the attempt. If the combined attach is not accepted by the end of the second attempt, the MS attempts to gain access only to GSM services. Once the MS gains access to the GSM services, the MS may attempt the combined attach while connected to GSM network.
