Abstract
The present invention provides glass compositions and glass coating systems for use on glass substrates in several industrial applications. It relates to a lead-free and cadmium-free glass enamel coating made primarily by utilizing at least one or more of lead-free and cadmium-free glass compositions comprising in weight percent from about 26% to about 63% SiO, from about 2% to about 10.5% ZnO, from about 8% to about 20% BO, from about 0.1% to about 10% BiO, up to about 12% NaO, from about 0.1% to about 17% KO, up to about 6% LiO, from about 0.1% to about 22% of TaO, from about 0.0% to about 22% of NbO, up to about 8% from each of AlO, TiO, ZrO, BaO and SrO, from about 0.1% to about 7% SbO, up to about 7% F, up to about 4% from each of CaO, MoOand MgO, and from about 0.1% to about 4% of one or more of LaO, NdO, PrOand CeO.
