Abstract

The invention concerns a process for producing mercaptoorganyl(alkoxysilanes), wherein bis(alkoxysilylorganyl)polysulfides are hydrogenated at temperatures of <190° C. and pressures of <100 bar with hydrogen and a transition metal catalyst without the addition of water, alcohol or HS.
