Abstract

An epoxy resin represented by general formula (2), wherein R-Rindicate a hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, n is 0 or integer of 1 or more and X is a bond or the following general formula wherein R-Rindicate a hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon group of carbon number 1-6, obtained by reacting an aromatic compound represented by general formula (1) and epihalohydrine, wherein R-Rand X are as identified herein, having molecular weight distribution comprising, content of n=0 component in the epoxy resin represented by general formula (2) is 60% or less and epoxy equivalent is 250 g/eq or over.
