Abstract
On one surface of a lead framehaving an aperturepassing through in thickness direction thereof, a submount having transparency for closing the apertureof the lead frameis disposed. On a surface of the submount opposite to a surface of the submountfacing the apertureof the lead frame, a semiconductor optical deviceis disposed in such a way that an optical portion thereof faces toward the aperture. The semiconductor optical deviceis electrically connected to the lead framevia wire. At least one surface of the lead frame, the semiconductor optical deviceand the submountare encapsulated with a molding portionmade of a non-transparent molding resin in a state that the apertureon the other surface side of the lead frameis exposed.
