Abstract

The present invention relates to a method, a network device (), and a terminal device () for controlling the activation of packet data protocol context in a network supporting packet switched transmission of data units. A push information element HSS Push IE is added to a data base (') containing information to control push services. This push information element Push IE is sent to a network device () with a support node functionality. This push information element is evaluated. Thus, network requested context activation procedures is controlled to thereby reduce the number of unnecessary context activations.
