To form a disk substratehaving a no information area at low cost and without failure, a moldis provided for forming a disk substratehaving a no information area. A cavityof the moldhas a surfacecorresponding to the no information areaand made of a mirror-surfaced plate. A cylindrical member (sleeve) is inserted in an inner holeof the mirror-surfaced plate. An annular projectionis provided on the end surface of the cylindrical member adjacent to the cavity.
