Abstract
A wireless communication system for effecting communication between wireless terminals by structuring an ad hoc network without using an access point, wherein each of the wireless terminals comprises: a receiving unit which receives a beacon signal generated periodically from a wireless terminal of a communication party; an extracting unit which extracts network identification information contained in the beacon signal received by the receiving unit; a setting unit which automatically sets the extracted network identification information; and a session establishing unit which establishes a session by sending a communication request to the wireless terminal of the communication party by using the network identification information set by the setting unit.
