Abstract
An ornament () for a jewellery system, which ornament () comprises a base portion () that is provided with at least one notch () for receiving an elongate element, and ornamental element () that can be mounted on the base portion in such a manner that it extends across the notch and thus encloses the elongate element. The base portion () and the ornamental element () are configured such that the ornamental element () can, in a releasable manner, be mounted on the base portion () with any randomly selected orientation relative to the notch (). Additionally, a jewellery system that comprises an elongate element and at least one ornament () as described above.
