Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for preparing 3(4),8(9)-dihydroxymethyltricyclo[5.2.10]decane by hydrogenating the hyd roformylation products of d icyclopentad lene. The process comprises carrying out the hydrogenation in the presence of water, optionally after addition of water.
