Abstract

A device for producing heavy gas-filled insulating glass sheets () has two plates (), between which the insulating glass sheet () which is to be filled can be located. On the vertical edges of the plates () there are sealing devices () to seal the space () between the plates (). On the lower edge of the plates () there are a conveyor means () for insulating glass and a channel () for the supply of heavy gas into the space () between the plates () and into the interior () of the insulating glass sheets (). In one of the plates () there is a seal () which extends solely transversely to the plane of the plate () from bottom to top essentially vertically and which is located for example in the (lengthwise) middle of the plate ().
