Abstract
The invention relates to a projection system using multiple light sources () at the same time. The projection system () comprises multiple light sources (), a lens array system for each of the light sources (), a condenser lens (), an aperture means (), a light valve assembly and a projection lens () to project an image. The light sources are adapted to each simultaneously illuminate the whole light valve assembly. In one aspect, the invention relates to a system and methods for allowing separately control of brightness, contrast, dichroic color shift or beam uniformity. This controlling or adjustment is performed by controlling and/or adjusting the cross-section of the illumination beam of each of the multiple light sources near the aperture of the aperture means.
