Abstract
The invention relates to a headlightin particular based on the projection principle. The headlight has a semiconductor light sourcewhich is arranged at the focal point of the reflectorand is connected to a cooling elementThis cooling elementextends from the semiconductor light sourceto the transparent lensthrough which the light that is reflected by the reflectoris emitted, passes through the transparent lensand projects beyond it. This arrangement of a semiconductor light sourcea cooling elementand a transparent lensensures that the light sourceis cooled effectively. In addition, the arrangement and the form of the cooling elementensure that the cooling elementdoes not shadow, or only slightly shadows, the reflected light. This leads to a high light yield from the headlightaccording to the invention, and to a long life.
