Abstract

In order to evaporate a liquid substance () and convey it to a user, a bubbler () is provided, into which a carrier gas () is conveyed. When a minimum level () has been reached, an exact quantity of the substance () is refilled from a reservoir tank (). For this purpose, an intermediate tank () is provided, which is filled with an inert gas up to a pressure P. An inert gas () is applied to the reservoir tank () at a pressure P, higher than P. The intermediate tank () is connected with the reservoir tank (), as a result of which a specific quantity of the substance () flows into the intermediate tank () and is conveyed via a connection line () to the bubbler (), with inert gas () first having been applied to the connection line () at a pressure P, lower than P
