Abstract

A frequency hopping spread spectrum telecommunication system is provided, which selects carrier frequencies based on the number of active slots. The duration that carriers have been employed is then based on the number of active slots (), rather than the number of frames (). Thus, non-interfered with carriers can be used more often than interfered with carriers, thereby improving voice quality.
