A control systemfor an automotive vehicle, such as an adaptive cruise control system, is provided including a navigation system. The navigation systemincludes a global positioning system. The navigation systemdetects a ramp and generates a navigation signal including navigation data and map data. A controlleris electrically coupled to the navigation system.
