Abstract
A power factor is improved using a simplified structure without particularly providing a power factor improving circuit, and high efficiency is obtained. For this purpose, one terminal of a direct-current power source, from which a pulsating current is obtained, is connected through a choke coilto one end of an auxiliary coilconstituting a converter transformer; the other end of the auxiliary coilis connected to the other terminal of the direct-current power sourcethrough a series circuit of a diodeand a capacitor; a connection midpoint between the diodeand the capacitoris connected to one end of a primary coilof the converter transformer; the other end of the primary coilis connected to the other terminal of the direct-current power sourcethrough a switching element; a secondary coilof the converter transformeris connected to direct-current voltage output terminalsandthrough a rectifying circuit; the direct-current voltage output terminalis connected to an input side of a pulse width modulation control circuit; and an output terminal of the pulse width modulation control circuitis connected to a control electrode of the switching element
