Abstract
A connector includes a receptacleto be mounted on a substrateand a plugadapted to be connected to the receptacle. The receptaclehas a shield caseprovided with connection terminalstherein, and the plughas a shield caseprovided with connection terminalstherein. The shield caseof the plugis adapted to be inserted into the shield caseof the receptaclewhen the plugis connected to the receptacle, at which the connection terminalsof the plugare electrically connected to the connection terminalsof the receptacle. A tongue portionis provided on a bottom surface of the shield caseof the receptacleand a recessis formed on a bottom surfaceof the shield caseof the plugso that the tongue portionis fitted into the recesswhen the plugis connected to the receptacle, which serve as an erroneous insertion preventing and guiding mechanism.
