Abstract
A light bulb () includes a translucent housing () and a base (). The housing () includes a plurality of LEDs (, and) positioned so as to emit light through the housing (). The base () is configured to mate with a light socket. The base () also includes a compartment () for receiving and securing a replaceable active ingredient cartridge (), and an active ingredient dispenser () for emitting an active ingredient from the cartridge () when the cartridge () is secured in the compartment (). A fluorescent light source () may also be provided in the housing () as a source of illumination.
