Abstract
A sensor-equipped hub unit comprises a hub unithaving a wheel-side raceway member, a body-side raceway member, and two rows of rolling bodies, and a sensor deviceprovided on the hub unit. The sensor devicehas a magnetostrictive sensorfor detecting a reverse magnetostrictive effect of the raceway memberproduced by a force exerted thereon by the rolling bodies. The sensor devicedetects rotation from the number of repetitions of a variation in strain and also detects the force acting on the wheel-side raceway memberfrom the amplitude of strain.
